Consolidated thread about sale now on - ends 26 Sept

Hi. I booked flight tickets in a seat sale in January this year (2015) at a very attractive price. Does anyone know when Virgin Atlantic has seat sales other than January. Obviously the answer is going to be when business is slack, but are there any specific times of year when Virgin do this. Thanks.

Probably around 20th-25th August. That's usually when the best 'deal zone' happens.

I got mine at Easter for departing this Saturday 15th

I find that they normally offer flight sales in early September then a very short few days sale in last November. I am waiting for the flight sales next month as I am treating myself to a UC flight to Montego in February; splurging with my bonus payment !! For the few years that I have booked during sales I find they generally offer them in April & September.

BA had one penciled in for the 20th so I'd assume VS will follow suit...

Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking for a flight for next February to Montego Bay. Kinda hoping that UC tickets will be reasonable. I normally buy PE tickets during the sale but want to treat myself just for the experience. I will keep an eye out around 20 August.

I've been watching the Virgin website like a hawk. Economy tickets for Montego Bay have gone down from £700-£500 and PE from £1200-£700. I would go ahead and book if I was travelling by PE but I want to treat myself and travel by UC but THOSE prices have not come down and I appreciate that they may never come down. HOWEVER, those prices look like sale prices but Virgin have not advertised anywhere and I just called and they said that they have not advertised that they are on sale either. Is it fair to assume that there may be one this or next month? Is it also fair to assume that whilst the prices are pretty low that they AREN'T sale prices?( I noticed the same low prices last month). And that when Virgin do go on sale they'll make it known loud and clear? Can anyone give a heads up. I have always known them to go on sale in early Sept. Like everyone, I'm anxious to bag a bargain UC flight. Thanks muchly.

Since they use "dynamic prcing" all the time, I think that often there is very little real difference between the "regular" price and "special sale price". So the general advice stands; keep checking and when you find a price that you are happy with, go ahead and book it!

I was hanging on for the usual "reward sale" for our flights to MIA next May, but the PE reward flights started to disappear so I booked them a coupleof days ago. If/when they do have a reward sale, I might have save some miles, but on the other hand, I might not have got the flights I wanted...!

Thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. I guess I am waiting for UC to go in the sale, otherwise at those prices I would have merrily booked PE. I may go ahead and book rather than run the risk of the bargain PE tickets selling out !! I'm not travelling until next January but will keep checking.

After my problems with getting what we wanted for our Fall trip I have just booked for Spring 2016 with Virgins sale - which I have been diligently checking for.

For anyone interested. I just got bargain return flights to the Caribbean for £750 Premium Economy. Unfortunately no UC tickets were available in the sale. Oh well !

I was just looking into that, no difference whatsoever so far, either in dates available or prices.

I need just 4 tier points by the end of October to reach Gold for the first time, a weekend hop to NYC looks all the more tempting!

As usual VS haven't actually got their lowest fares advertised!

For example a trip to NYC in economy at the end of October is coming out at £360 instead of the £379 they are promoting.

You should see some of the ex EU fares being offered by BA! Many details over on FT, but several people have picked up FRA-LHR-SYD in FIRST for £1400....!!
