Looking for clarity...

For those of us who have booked on the supposed first 787 flight on October 28th.. I've just read on a friend's Facebook wall that VS are running an internal competition for 10 staff to win seats on their 'Inaugural flight on Oct 23rd'....

Anyone in the know care to help here...I'm not sure what the above means.

I believe VS are doing some short training flights at EIS prior to the first passenger carrying flight on 28 OCT.

Virgin have announced that one of the 787's will be named G-VCRU Olivia-Rae after the daughter of Quinton Garrathy, the crew member killed in St Lucia.

Hello All

When Sir RB talked about this new plane there was mentions of an improved PE offering and some 'extras'. Now, being a PE flyer (most of the time!) this really interested me - does anyone know what it is?

The Wander wall has been quoted, but on the seat maps for this there is nothing there..? Perhaps something they went against - or is it something they are not showing before the first flight?

But what is it ? ?|

I'm guessing just a part if the galley that is a self serve snack bar - kind of like what qantas do in the economy cabin on some flights and ba do for their "club kitchen"

It's exactly that. A space where W customers can stretch their legs, chat with crew, grab snacks etc...

That's an interesting idea - I wonder if they will have beers there and how it will go down with PAX. I honestly did think they would go for a bar area, but I guess 2 bars might be overkill...

Do you think it will roll back to the rest of the fleet or just the 787's

A self-serve bar with alcohol is highly unlikely I'd expect, as it'll be impossible to police passenger booze intake.

Virgin do a sale and lease back of some of the 787s. It refers to delivery in Oct 14, wonder whether that is slippage of VNEW as i dont think VAHH is due until Nov or Dec.

Of course they won't put another bar on. What would be the point? And self service alcohol is never gonna happen. It'll be a place to grab a snack for W class. I imagine it isn't on the plans as it'll be a big secret.

Just done mine too! The entire A row has no opposite facing PAX.
