To be fair, VS are making some slow improvements, such as removing those garish yellow seats in Y, increasing seat pitch - and trialling new seats for PE. It will just take a while before the feedback is gathered and changes are made fleet wide.

I like the Business Lite idea, making a little more of PE, and bundled with adding a few CH passes to Ag renewal, could be very worthwhile. But yes, that would require more improvements (or re-introduction of cost cuts) to J. Id like to see the menu and food onboard improved (wouldnt we all), better Amenity kits (more inline with the old style ones you got back 5-6 years ago or so) and red pillows back!! I would happily see a rise on the TP requalification to supplement this.

I do hope VS is reading this thread avidly as there are a lot of good ideas here.

Further improvement ideas!

Flying a lot with Singapore at the moment (back in Sydney!) and I do like how they weight their loyalty scheme. Fly enough in Business/First gets you into their PPS Club with various perks, but fly even more and you get into the "Solitaire PPS Club" which then layers on even more perks, including complimentary partner membership at the same level!

Fianlly, fly with them in Business/First a HUGE amount, and you get lifetime status - nice! I wonder if Virgin could something similar with their UC product? i.e. Earn TP's on all flights, but also earn "platinum points" as well if you fly in Upper. Get enough "platinum points" in a year, throw in extra perks. Maybe a parnter gold card rather than silver, limo even when booking a Z-class fare, etc.

Absolument! Am flying home in UC from there later this year and will have to put up with an apparently very 2nd rate also-ran shared lounge.

But am I bitter? Am I twisted?????

Its not that bad Claire, its no LGW clubhouse, but its better than many BA lounges. Its comfortable, it has free drinks and wi-fi access, just no food.
If you have children, it has a collection of videos you can borrow to keep them amused.
