Oooooh 'Broadband WIFI'? I must've missed that. Does anyone know if they're sticking with ARINC, or whether it'll be a new supplier. ARINC most certainly do not provide 'Broadband speeds on the 333's. WIFI works, but it's slow.

Good news VNEW has moved to the flightline to be prepared for first flight. Bad news is delivery date is showing as 5/10.
VAHH starts assembly on 16/9. Third one has reg of G-VOOH.

So glad they have managed to get the red paint on the engines now, as I'm sure I read somewhere that there was some sort of issue with only being able to use white paint on 787 engines to start with?

There's an issue with paint thickness which leads to ever so slight increased fuel burn if you don't use white. I think white is the default and if you don't go for it, the fuel burn isn't guaranteed.

Just booked mine! I'm in economy but still just as excited!!! :) :) :) New member here but looking forward to meeting you guys and gals for the inaugural on the 28th Oct! Do you think VS will do something special like speeches/party/freebies at the gate or at the Clubhouse?

So BOS on Oct 28th will not be the inaugural Dreamliner flight after all (although still the first revenue flight).

The big VIP/press launch will be to ATL on the 23rd, with a live gig on board.

Clever - kill two birds with one stone, launch ATL and the Dreamliner at the same time.

That is very clever! Thank you for the link, gumshoe! I am a Gorgon City fan too so I just submitted my entry for one of the lucky spots. I'm already sitting in cattle class for the BOS flight on 10/28 so cattle class on 10/23 with the live concert up in the air would be awesome!
I'm still keeping my booking for the 28th. I guess there won't be any speeches/party for the LHR-BOS flight on the 28th but who knows? Regardless I'm excited for VS!

VS have posted their time lapse of 787 constriction today and it shows the UC seats being installed. Confirms the seat plans that show no UCDS. They look very similar to the Air New Zeland ones with the larger out of seat control.
