Out of all US carriers, JetBlue have to be commended for their approach to VX.

The only US carrier who isn't crying like a baby and welcome's the challenge to go head to head with VX....:D

Fantastic news :D[^]:D- am heading over to a.net right now to see what all the doubters are now saying.

I wonder how much of this approval has been due to political pressure/lobbying. With the UK about to give in to the US on an "open" (cough) skies I wonder if SRB/Tony had a wee word in Dubya's ear!

Along with the "Governator", Schwarzenegger, one very powerful US Senator from California -- and a Democrat, by the way -- was involved: Dianne Feinstein. She just happens to serve on the transportation appropriations subcommittee in the Senate. She has been a tireless public servant and is highly respected (even by some conservatives!).

Chuck-

PS: For those interested, here is Sen. Feinstein's bio. Many years ago she became mayor of San Francisco when the then mayor was assassinated by a crazed member of the city's board of supervisors.

And let's not forget Harvey Milk, who was probably the real target alongside Moscone.

Jsut had an email from Virgin America:

"As you might have heard, the Department of Transportation has tentatively approved us for take off. We could not be more excited to share the experience of flying Virgin America with America.

We thank you for your ongoing support and hope to welcome you onboard our beautiful new planes this summer. We'll be in touch again soon, so that you can be one of the first people to know when we start selling tickets for our flights."

This is HUGE and I am so looking forward to it. I wish they were flying in May when I'll be in San Fran and need flights to LA and Palm Springs.
