Some looks good, some not so. Pastrami???[:$] Why not something most people would like? also, why do they have a couple of variations on routes. Why no salmon on the 076 - I had just decided on salmon when I saw the differences.[?]

When does Spring become Summer VS timing?

Thank you. We should have a different menu coming home then.

That's the problem. Me? I love pastrami and TBH, if I got just plain old cheese and pickle or ham and tomato I'd think I was being short-changed. A bit like going to the reopened Fat Duck and asking for a plate of chips that hasn't been messed about with.

Perhaps there is a case for a new special meal option. Plane and simple. Fish paste sandwich, Cottage pie and ice cream,

I guess what we need is more choice, which isn't going to happen. I have enjoyed my UC meals so far I have to say and if all I don't eat next time is the Pastrami sandwich then that is good!!

Just a little pun [:#]

It has been mentioned before, but the chance to pre-order your meal of choice would be good. It would be printed on your boarding card stub so no snaffling anyone else's meal just because it looks/smells better.

Would reduce waste and means they could load a box or 2 of krispy kreme [:D]

What happens if you order a lacto-vegetarian menu? Do you get a specially prepared meal or just the veggie choice from the main menu? We're flying UC by the way.

You get a veggie meal, but quite often non-lacto/ovo which is more like a vegan meal. I'd stick to the standard menu [y]

Thanks,

Mmmmmm The outbound mains do nothing to rock my world [:(]

So it looks like it will be a case of eat heartily in the CH before the flight & just nibble at the soup & desert on board for the outbound.

The inbound menu looks better though, wouldn't mind trying the beef. However IAD-LHR is a short flight, so having a meal on board seriously limits snooze time.

Shame the IB & OB aren't the other way round.

Edited to addÉÉÉ

In all honestly, I'm tempted to try to find BA's CW Spring menu & might actually consider switching based on what that's got [:w]

Very fickle of me I know, butÉÉÉÉ.

What are the differences for the GNF flights ex-US East Coast (i.e. BOS/JFK/EWR/IAD), for this cycle?

Travelling back BOS-LHR in UC at the end of May.

Back out to SFO in June, and probably again in July, so should get to give the Summer menu cycle a go then.

I still wish that VS either a) carried a bigger menu choice, or b) rotated their menu (either all of it, or just a bit of it) more frequently.

Have just flown back on a GNF flight so I'll try to do this from memory.

Express Tray
Seasonal leaf salad with grilled shrimp, parmesan, herb crostini and caeser tivoli dressing

Served with cheese and biscuits

Hot Supper Tray
Flat iron beef fillet with creamed potatoes, sauteed spinach, roasted beets, fried onion rings and beef jus
Roasted vegetable pastry with asparagus, baby carrots and dill cream sauce

Served with a side salad

Dessert
Cheese and biscuits
Dark chocolate and banana cheesecake

Cheers Tink! Think I'll give that a spin... last GNF salad I had was pretty decent.
