It would depend on where Heve60 got upgraded. If it was at the gate then there would have been no CH experience, just the cabin.

Both times we didn't get told of the upgrade until we reached the boarding gate, so yes missed out on all the perks. However when travelling to California last year we paid to travel UC, so was entitled to limo, clubhouses, UC cabin etc.

IMHO, the PE product to Orlando on VS is perfectly ok and I would certainly have to think long and hard before parting with my hard earned cash just to upgrade to UC especially when you already have the comfort of PE.

Is that an MPM fare? Haven't seen a standard fare, even in the sale like that for a long time.

Yes it is, but still much lower than usual. When I flew the same route in Dec '10, the MPM fare for UC Ret was $2900.

I don't understand the rationale behind these MPM fares, though. A regular econ ret ticket is way less expensive in Dec compared to July. UC fares are pretty similar. Yet MPM money fares are more expensive in Dec compared to July. Any ideas why?

If you get a free op-up at check-in you can't use the CH

I know this is the case but a friend of mine flew to Barbados last week and I phoned in advance to put her on my airmiles account on the off chance she could upgrade to UC on the day. At checkin they told her not to worry about the airmiles she could have an upgrade anyway and also gave her CH access? y)
