Hi,

Sorry to hi- jack this, but we travel to SFO in November. No problem with the time change although a little more time in the Clubhouse would have been nice.

What menu is likely to be offered in flight please.

Thank You

FWIW, I detest this seasonal change to the SFO routes. Being SFO based, I find the Winter schedule great because I arrive and even with a stop in Revivials can be in Soho for lunch.

In this current schedule (I'm sitting at the SFO Clubhouse now), the flight arrives after Revivals is closed. On my last trip, I was confused about this, asked at the checkin counter in LHR and was told curtly "Revivials is designed for Business travellers." Um, yeah, Miss Checkin Counter With Attitude, I _am_ a business traveller; how else do you think I got Gold status? (Let alone the absolute mess that VS has made of the back of my US Passport all those useless red stickers.)

I find that the most annoying thing about the later flight from SFO to LHR (revivals being closed) I sent a letter a while ago, just got a reply that ignored my question.

The excuse that it's a business traveller thing is terrible! I thought VS saw SFO as more of a business route than a tourism route. Oh and it's easy enough to be gold from flying for leisure ;)

This drives me crazy :0 it's such an asinine thing to do, I really wish VS would get over it, every other airline I fly with manages not to stick those stupid damned stickers on!

Totally agree. And they have continued to stick the blooming things on even though they seem no longer to ask the security questions!

Its weird that they don't even ask the pathetic questions ..... did you pack the bags yourself, do you have any sharp objects, are you a suicidal terrorist, etc. etc. before they stick the useless things on. I hate them. One of the first things I do as soon as I land is to carefully peel it off. [OCD alert] ... After I've had a cold beer of course ;)

Looks like they listened to you.

I booked the 19:50 SFO-LHR VS20 a few days ago and have just gone in to book my seats.

It now says the flight leaves at 16:30-10:40.

Timetable is still the same on the VS web-site though.

So what are my "rights" in changing to the later flight as the 19:50 was a good time for me and 16:30 isn't!

Anyone know if the later flight will be a more modern A/C??

I haven't accepted the change on VA yet. 8D

All the a/c that operate ex LHR are young in terms in flying hours and all the a/c have exactly the same cabins/seats/IFE on board so there isn't anything more modern to have.

Only the IFE on the two newly A333 that operate ex MAN/LGW to MCO is more modern, but again the cabins/seats are the same.

Regarding changing to the later flight, that is only going to operate on certain days each week, it isn't daily, so firstly it will depend on if it is operating the day of your flight. Then it is worth ringing VS and asking, they have no obligation to allow you to change, but may do so, but be prepared for them saying no.

The fact you haven't 'accepted' the change on the website means nothing, apart from the fact you won't be able to manage your booking/check in online until you do so.

The new 2nd daily SFO flight along with the new Vancouver service will be operated by the A340-300's which (bar one) don't have AVOD, so the chances are you'll end up with old fashioned 'loop' IFE.

Yes VS has definitely made some changes overnight. Checked yesterday and had late departure and arrival times on both my VS19 and VS20 next may, logged in today to see changed times:

VS19 Dep 10:35, arr 13:25
VS20 Dep 16:30, arr 10:40

No communication at all from VS - no call, no email - not even the od option to accept the changes!

Frustrating as I have an AMS connection which now leaves me all of 60 minutes in the CH!

Grrrr!!! Atleast we get revivals.

Very poor on the communication front, disappointed!!

Just checked our VS20 booking for next May and ours has also changed, again no communication at at all. Had I not found here on VF when would we have found at, 24 hrs before the flight when completing ONLI!!? Anyway I accepted the changes and then noticed that our seat requests on the VS23 outbound had all but vanished! Thankfully our original seats were still available for request so have done so again.

Weird went to see my booking, and the reference isn't valid anymore. Its flying to LAX but was back from SFO, both upgraded Upper legs. Given they are upgraded, they don't appear in my flying club and now the reference has fallen off their system...

Would have been nice to have been informed. Or indeed, I'm not even sure if I am on the flight in question...

Hi Smid, if the UC flights are G's (either miles upgrades or outright rewards)they don't show automatically under your Flying Club Account - they never have...something to do with VS's IT system not being able to cope with upgrades. You need to manually enter your booking reference & name, then you should see your flights. You also need to manually remember to phone FC after your journey to get the miles earned added as, once again, their system does not add your miles earned automatically. Also remember that miles earned will be applicable to the base fare you purchased, eg. if you paid for PE and upgraded with miles to UC then you earn miles as if you were flying PE.

Thanks
James

You missed the bit about the reference falling off the system. I already know what you've just said about the flying clib. We chose our seats via that reference a few weeks ago, now it doesn't work anymore.

I'm going to try it again today, and if it still doesn't work, then its onto VS...
