You're right, VS41/42 didn't operate last Friday for instance. I was at SFO and there was no sign of it at all.

There may well be cities 'on the list' but VS appear to be doing F.A. about operating them.

BA meanwhile have announced Seoul and are going to announce 3 new long haul destinations this year.

I take your point about all the juggling (and agree with it), but BA flying to Seoul is not the opening up of a 'new' route -- they used to fly there, so it is a bit similar to VS returning to Mumbai.

Without knowing VS's financial position it is hard to comment on the prospects for expansion, but I do wonder whether developing brand new destinations is at the top of their to-do list right now. I suspect there are other fish to fry first.

You also have to remember that launching new routes to new countries requires a lot of red tape to get through.

Countries usually want/demand bilateral agreements (you can fly here if we can fly to the UK etc etc) and so governments usually get involved as well.

It's never just as straight forward as picking a new destination then starting to fly there.
