Huge Virgin fan, fly frequently to Hong Kong and Shanghai, the ability to fly into one and out of the other is priceless for me, ALWAYS enjoy both the flight and crew, have had the odd niggle on board but always sorted quickly and professionally, however July last year after already dropped bags, holding boarding card and sitting in the lounge in Shanghai, attending a pre-arranged meeting with a colleague in transit to Korea, took a call from my wife who had been woken in the UK at 03.00am by a call from Virgin Shanghai stating I could not travel because I had not paid for my ticket and I should head to the gate immediately, was told I had changed my itinerary and had not flown out with them, I showed my ticket stub from outbound flight, was left standing at the gate for 90mins and eventually allowed to board as the plane was due to depart, the process of complaining was amateurish, taking months to sort out, I flew twice with the darkside as a matter of principle whilst I awaited answers, eventually received 10,000 miles and an apology, this really didn't cover any of the aggravation or expense incurred but had to draw a line under Virgins one and only blunder ...... now know the names of half the customer service teams both UK and Shanghai, hope in the nicest possible way that I never have to contact them again!
