Newark or JFK

One time I took the late flight in we were delayed a couple of hours, suspect this is why limited taxis on that occasion and hence my earlier comment. Sorry if that worried anyone as it sounds like that is not the norm. I always take the afternoon flights these days but do try to void the 45 after a horrendous immigration delay one year of over 2.5 hours.

For those not visited nyc before, on the tout issue you have to watch them as they will swear they are same price as cabs. I got duped once when I was younger and dumber. You quickly learn to not be british and polite but ignore them. Cab from EWR into the city is dearer than JFK though, poor guys are forbidden from picking up fares in New York when they drop you off as they are jersey only cabs.

Lol, agreed on the tout issue. Like yourself I have only done it once before although I did manage to come out on top, with a little bit of foot stomping followed by threaten with airport police - cheapest I have ever got from Manhattan to JFK before, but not worth the hassle

Did not know that about the Jersey cabbies.... have passed through EWR a fair few times and each time was a typical yellow cab

Prefer EWR to JFK....although on VS25 next month as JFK is a good choice if your heading out to Long Island. I tend to leave straight from work for LHR and enjoy evening flights... .Have found that immigration at that time of night at EWR and JFK isn't a hassle and agree with Blackie1 .. Late flights work (for me) and help with jet lag. I took the VS17 in February and have to say was a great flight !

Never done the late flight out but I have done the day flight back once which I quite liked.
