BA to Move to LGW South, VS to Move to the North Terminal?

Yes it was mentioned last year and more than in just general 'it might happen' or 'it would be good if ... ' terms but in 'yes this is going to happen and all we have to do is cross the t's ...'

Both Easyjet and BA will be able to consolidate their operations into one terminal (currently both split) which will help reduce delays.

VS have probably got a good deal out of LGW to pay for a new CH and VH for the V-room.

It's interesting that BA have to take second fiddle at LGW to Easyjet unlike their dominance at LHR

Still some of the reaction there was more they wanted to be far, far away from the orange even if it meant moving terminals!

Headforpoints, has just announced on his site that it will be November 2016, and has quite a bit of info on there if anybody is interested.

If virgin do get pushed into the North terminal does anyone think that they will have a new clubhouse open by then, (i know its impossible to say without a crystal ball, just wondered what people reckoned) looking to fly to mexico around then and would be disappointing without the clubhouse to start the journey!

I doubt very much that VS would move terminals and not insist on like for like facilities. They have too much out of LGW to NOT have a clubhouse surely?

Since there are currently "good lounges" in each terminal, I imagine that VS & BA will simply "swap" lounges at first, and stick some temporary signs up! I can't see there being enough space for them to build "new lounges" while the "old lounges" are still in use; once the swap has taken place then they can work their through with "proper" rebranding & refurbishment.

The change over day will be "fun"...!

I think it will be easier for VS as they could use BA's first lounge whilst refitting the galleries which is also big enough to do in two halves. I remember the LHR club house redevelopment when that was split similarly whilst the work was carried out. Personally as a user of both airlines I prefer the BA set up at the North where the premium check in is next to the premium security channel and you are then only two mins from the lounges. For me it's a better deal for VS

Agreed Paul - there's also the V Room to fit in but even with that, assuming VS are moving terminals (which hasn't yet been confirmed), I'd have thought VS would end up with a larger lounge area than they have now.

Are the VS Clubhouse and V Room large enough for BA's needs?
