My process to book via Expedia worked but....

I thought I'd be generous when one of my daughters said she & her husband wanted to book a Paris trip for a few days.

I had over £350 of Nectar points so said I would treat them to the trip & I duly transferred £300 to my Expedia a/c in readiness. Big tick for me.

I then checked that the Nectar points had been transferred & they had. (I transferred £300 as Nectar points can't be used for taxes & fees so I would pay the additional costs on credit card). Big clever bunny tick for me.

I then logged out & pootled off to do something else. Big untick for me.

My daughter had already decided on dates, airport, flight times, hotel etc & I logged into Virgin shopping site. Big tick for me.

We then spoke on the 'phone as I was carrying out the process to ensure I did it correctly. Big tick for me.

I used a credit card for the additonal costs that gave me extra points & remembered to enter my Nectar number. Big clever bunny tick for me.

I waited for confirmation emails & then forwarded the emails to her to agree which she did.

Then I remembered I had forgotten to use the voucher. B#gger b#gger b#gger.

I really should learn not to think I'm clever.

So you've been a loving, generous mother and given your daughter a trip to Paris. Huge tick to you.

And you remembered to go via Shops Away. Another big tick.

And you used the right card for even more airmiles. This woman is awesome.

You even remembered to use your Nectar card number!

But it gets better. You forgot to use the voucher. Brilliant, because after that bit of awesomeness, you deserve to have that for something you'd like. Go on, do something for yourself for a change, mums usually put themselves at the back of the queue.
