A hotel not yet mentioned is the Marriott!
We use Twilight check in then either walk or ride to that hotel hotel. It's very comfortable and there is the option to upgrade to a small suite that would give more room for a larger family. In the morning it's either a 5 min stroll if the weather is OK or a one stop bus ride (every 20 minutes) to the terminal.
The Number 1 lounge is not bad. There is food available albeit not in too large a portion but it is reasonably comfortable and a definite improvement of the departure lounge.
Have a great time!

I like the Marriott as well, usually because I have the car and there is usually an online deal which includes parking while I am away. The rooms I have stayed in solo in the Marriott have two double beds and a sofa in, so fine for a family of 4 and while it is about a 10 minute walk to the terminal, it is walkable as long as it is not raining. If it is raining there is a bus.

Would give another vote for the BLOC hotel...

Room was a decent size (VIP room with view over the runway) which was amazing. It was very well appointed and for kids I think they would love the automation in the rooms with electric blinds etc.

Yes, there is no onsite restaurant - but you get a discount at the Giraffe across the way and this is as good as many of the hotel offerings in the area.

Can anyone recommend a LGW hotel that would allow for early morning check-in for a 1 night stay ?

How early is early?

You may have to book the room for the night before to ensure a room is available.

I love bloc. The VIP rooms with runways views are amazing!! With the valet parking deal they do, the room is often almost free...

Can't believe so many here use the Hilton, old and tired. Don't let loyalty programmes force your hand...

Looked at Yotel unfortunately there are 3 of us and it will really start to eat into the savings made by ex-DUB if we stay a second night to the point convenience looks the better option rather than the saving as only looking at EC.

It is often a complete steal in terms of points, and with status gets you free g&ts. Agree parts of it are old and tired, but I think that's the ultimate fate of many airport hotels.
