Extended slightly again now till Jan 8th 2020:

Virgin Atlantic during the weekend of 01/02NOV19’s schedule update once again extended Airbus A340-600 service. Based on the update, the A340-600 is now scheduled to operate until 08JAN20, 3 days later than previously planned. The A340 is scheduled to operate on London Heathrow – Atlanta route from 07NOV19 to 08JAN20.

VS103 LHR0920 – 1415ATL 346 D
VS104 ATL1750 – 0655+1LHR 346 D

Looks like the LHR>ATL route will be the last route for the VS 346's.

VS are now down to just 3 remaining 346's now:

NAP, WIN & FIT

RED & WEB have both not flown anywhere for a few weeks now and look to be at both at LGW.

I would assume G-VRED and G-VWEB have flown their last revenue-earning flights for VS. For LHR-specific planes, there's generally not much reason for them to be at LGW and other A340's have exited the fleet via a visit to LGW first.

As an aside, 2 of the 3 remaining A340's are the remaining VS aircraft in the 1999 'Silver Dream Machine' livery which must be the candidate for the longest-lived VS livery to date. Everything else in the fleet is in the current 'Billboard' livery (metallic or otherwise) apart from G-VROS and G-VROY being in the revised livery that came out in the second half of the 2000's and G-VLIP in the Disney Star Wars scheme. It won't be long now until everything in the fleet is in the same livery for the first time in over a decade.

Atlanta is now officially extended to end of January on the A346 - along with Lagos (on the 21st, 22nd and 24th) and the JFK 25/26 (on the 23rd and 25th).

Also confirmed to be operating the Lagos route in Summer schedule from 29th March until 31st July (then planned to move over to A350)
