We fly tomorrow on VS015 LGW-MCO and ive got everything crossed for a refitted plane! Been looking at previous fights and for the past few weeks this flight has been operated by a refit :-)

flying LGW-LAS on friday, and the seating plan is the 'old' one.
return flight a week later is showing the 'new/refurb' layout.

booooo... would have preferred the refurb on the way out!

Are you referring to Thomas Cook?

Thomson/First Choice offer a good PE product and when booked it is present on the aircraft.

Not always the case, a colleague was booked PE from SFB and on arrival at the airport was told the a/c operating the flight didn't have PE on it so had to fly back Y

Neil my understanding is that sometimes TOM have to use a European configured aircraft due to say one of the PE equipped aircraft going tech. I don't believe it is standard practice.

however... just over 2 days to go, and all of a sudden the outbound seating plan has become available, it's changed to the refurbed layout and managed to reserve a couple of ECO seats in the bubble :)

I don't know why but it looks Like Jersey Girl is operating the flight, so not a refit I'm afraid.

The way I read that is you can select seats from the 8th October. We are flying PE on the 12th October and still can't select seats.

Still no definitive answer on VROS ? There is nothing in the status updates for a return from HKG and I would have thought it would show by Wednesday for a weekend flight - usually the put it up and then push the date back from there......

Anybody know ?

No, but it is still probably to soon. She only flew out on the 11th August, and the other a/c have all taken longer than 4 weeks, so I imagine we will see something around the 15th.

I return in PE on the 17th October but no seat map is available in my booking yet. Could it be because my outbound flight is in September (19th)?

If you read the link, it says seat requests for PE pax will be available after the 8th October. It doesn't say for flights after the 8th October, just after the 8th October. So on the 8th or 9th October you will be able to go in and select your seats if you are a PE pax.

Thanks Neil - I got the wrong end of the stick. I just had an online chat with a VS rep & she advised me of exactly what you have just posted. I will just have to remember to try & do my requests on the 8th/9th.

Flew on Jersey Girl to Orlando today, was hoping for a refit but wasnt to be...although the upper class suite I was in was ok a little worn but not as bad as I was thinking...service was spot on and I loved the afternoon tea/sandwich troll :-)

I'm guessing we may not know the answer to this until after the 8/9 October, but as it looks like the PE seats of choice are likely to be 20ACHK at the front of the bubble, does anyone know if they will be available for pre-selection, or only at the airport?

Given that I understand there's no bulkhead there (and no exit), I'm thinking there's no actual reason they would need to be held back for family/safety reasons?

And yes, I am certainly intending to grab them for my flight if at all possible!!

There is a skycot position in 20AC or HK (Can't remember which one), so they will probably be held back for pax travelling with babies.

According to a recent TR (or maybe a post) row 20 is not that great as you are disurbed by people using the toilet on a nightflight......

Ah ok... must admit that I was looking for relevant TRs, but still a bit thin on the ground for refurb planes. As far as I'm aware, there's no way to search TRs on the basis of aircraft config, that would be a nice enhancement if it were possible...

You can sort of do that already I think...

When you look at the Seat Maps and Ratings section and click on a seat thathas been rated, you will then get an option to view the corresponding TR ;)

Doh... I should have thought of that one. Many thanks... oo)
