I see Jersey Girl is going to some place in the far east on 11th September Guess this is for a refit.

As we are past the main holiday season could we have 2 out at a time, with English Rose back a few days later. If she comes back around 12th / 13th, thaat will be quick...

GAL is going to Xiamen, which must be a special charter. They could tie it in and send her to HKG for refits but that would just depend on the nature of the charter and how it works with the rest of the fleet.

Still nothing showing for the return of ROS, so I think it unlikely they will have 2 a/c being refitted at the same time, although hope I am wrong, the more the merrier.

Many thanks Neil Talking of Charters, will we see a 346 going to America on Charter soon, with the Ryder Cup team?

As a side issue, MEG is coming back to MAN soon, but guess she is now bare and debranded from VS.

VGAL going to Xiamen which is where Taeco are based, they are part of the same group who are doing the refits on lgw 747's, Haeco. It might be a coincidence but I'm holding on to the fact that by another 747 going I've got a better chance of being on one in October. :D

Just swapped my flight to MCO VS015 from MIA VS005 (Long story :( )
Asked about seating the family of 4 of us together but were only able to do a 2 + 2 with 5 row difference.
Was offered the £20ea Extra Legroom for the OB Leg, so took them as she could do a row of 4.
She said the Seats would be 53 D-G
Now that would tie in with an old config.

Now do they know roughly what a/c is operating 4 weeks in advance, but by then the LGW fleet will be a 50/50 refit split.
Because if the a/c turns out to be refit, the Extra Legroom seats will not be 53 D-G
So was the 53 row a good indication of an old config, or purely speculation and possibly expect a seat change if a refit gets that route that day?

Trying to word that all right, but may have mangled it...lol
Apologies in advance if I'm regurgitating a time old classic FAQ :|

Sorry I said I changed my flight from one to MIA to MCO and got extra legroom in 59, but saying 59 isn't extra legroom on a refit.

Just wondering - does anyone know whether there is a board between PE & Y in the new layout of the bubble or is there a curtain?
Also, I think I remember correctly that the jump seat for the crew during take-off used to be at the right of the aircraft in this section looking towards the cockpit:anyone know if it's still there?
I'm just curious & trying to imagine the new layout as I think I may have a refit if the VS73 stays in the same pattern as it is at the moment by the time I go on 19th September.

Jump seat I'm not too sure about, but from reading previous posts and TRs, there is a curtain between PE and Y in the bubble

Flying VS43 to LAS on Sunday 9th and just in a bored moment on my last couple of hours at work went in to view my seat allocation - to see that I'm now on a Seating Config LGW-1 with economy seating on the Upper Deck.
I had originally selected 58K on lower deck - have been frantically searching forums for seat reviews, but have opted to change this to 76K Upper Deck - good choice?????
It looks like a pretty full flight so am thinking it will be quieter upstairs
Anyone have any experience of Upper Deck economy yet (my only previous Upper Deck flights have been in Premium on Garuda from Bali several years ago).
Any tips appreciated :-)
Thanks

There is a single jumpseat on either side just behind the last row of premium economy on the upper deck, this separates the cabin as does the curtains.

Does anyone know if there are any slight variations between different PE seats? The most obvious one is seat pitch, with the ever cryptic 'up to 38 inches' statement - so are there any that give you less than that? Are there any seats that have a more limited recline - such as those that back onto the jumpseats in the bubble?

I know a lot of this is about perception, with the view that the bubble is more spacious overall, but in terms of hard measurements, are there any differences across the PE seats, upstairs and down?
