Well looking at flight stats the EI230 seems quite good on the delay front, but yes i would rather have longer in the clubhouse official stopover time is 02:55

Ok, so I'm fairly clued up about the Ex UK departure and have got my head around ITMatrix

One question though.

Can I book my itin-DUB-LHR-LGW-LAS-LGW-LHR-DUB direct with Virgin over th phone or do I have to go to Expedia and the like to book?

Reason I ask is two fold.

1 At the moment Virgin let me book the return up to 30th August 2016 whilst expedia only lets me do 23rd Aug 2016 latest-So will I miss out on Z fares if I book with expedia?

2. As I have the Virgin Black CC if I do not book direct with Virgin I will not get the 4 x miles.

People have done it over the phone with Virgin.

I think you do get the 4 x miles with expedia though, as the booking is done through Virgin.

You need to have paid on your VS Amex Card.

Check in separately with each airline, that's the simplest, although Aer Lingus may be able to check you in fir your VS flight, I'm not sure. Someone will know.

The £10 CC charge is a bonus on Expedia compared to Virgin

Just got back from a BRU-LHR-MIA, MIA-LHR-BRU trip and it worked really well. Since I've been back, I've been looking at Expedia again, but am wondering if they have stopped being able to position from outside the UK, as none of the options I'm trying come up with any matches. I'm trying from Brussels, Amsterdam and Dublin, to fairly well-trodden destinations (Boston, NYC), but not a sausage! Anyone know if Expedia have stopped this?

ex-DUB to MIA is currently coming in at £963 for a wide range of dates this year and next...

It's bizarre, because that's over £100 cheaper than when the sale was running.

I already had mine booked unfortunately, but a chance for others to cash in on this fantastic price!

I was looking at dates in March, but there are many other months.

Oh I'm firmly of the belief that published VS sales for Upper have been worthless for a long time... Especially if you are doing ex-DUB, those seem to go up and down randomly over the year, and isn't even related to whether BA is having a sale... (BA's ex dub special finished a few days ago).

On a return leg from Miami, If i left Miami on a friday, landed at heathrow on a saturday, and then made my final leg to DUB on a Sunday, would my bag automatically be checked all the way through to DUB, or could I pick it up at LHR?

Just make sure your "stopover" in London is less than 24 hours; if it's over you'll have to pay APD for the final leg .

Now we've got back after not taking the last LHR-DUB segment, I've had an email from the MyFlights app (that I use to monitor any changes to flight bookings) that shows an update to the e-ticket changing the segments from

Dublin - London - San Francisco - London - Dublin

to

Dublin - London - San Francisco - London

The fare calculation code has stayed the same:

DUB BA X/LON VS SFO843.78VS X/LON BA DUB843.78NUC1687.56END ROE0.810635 XF SFO4.5

Is this normal once BA have logged us as no-shows for the final flight?

Logging into my itinerary on Expedia shows the details have changed to reflect this. Strangely, our positioning flight to Dublin (also booked through Expedia), that we took, now shows as having been cancelled on Expedia. Very strange as ba.com shows the flight as having been taken and Avios points awarded.

Also, our FC miles and tier points for the return SFO-LHR flight have posted, but not the miles or tier points for the LHR-SFO flight. Do I need to submit a missing miles claim?

Yes, that's fine. We're leaving our cases at at Heathrow overnight before collecting them on our return from Dublin to check them in at the Virgin desk.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. Booked the flights today and saved over £3k! Very happy. The woman who booked the flight at Virgin was less than pleased and really scrutinised me but she made the booking all the same. y)

As you can see it states PE on the VS flight details, yet when you click thru it switches to EC?

I'm guessing as it shows class N if you continue through the booking then EC is what i would end up with?
