VITB, I *think* Denzil's sentiment was that most staff don't want it to come to a strike. They'd like it settled fairly, with no disruption to their jobs or passenger's lives. (That'd be my hope, anyway).
Exactly, in fact it probably holds true for most people, in most jobs.

It's an interesting use of the phrase "ball is firmly placed with the VS management", however - in EFFECTIVE negotiations, there's no "ball", just reasoned argument and agreement...
Again i think you got my point there are no effective negotiations taking place. Not going into specifics the offer is not very appealing & over a 40 month period.

I understand fully what your saying VITB, but in their heart of hearts most wish it hadn't come to this (no doubt you included). Ironic that it's an ex BA person at the helm!!!!!

looking at the ballot results, lets hope that the company can find a soloution that is acceptable to all. I think the last thing that crew and customers want is strike action. the amazing thing is when you speak to most people they have no idea what virgin actually pay the crew under the disguise of excellent service and modern fleet etc... I guess all the crew want is a fair price on their professionalism.

I hope that "industrial action" can be avoided and we can all have a trouble free summer
