My advice would be stop worrying and don't let concerns about where you'll be for 8 hours of your life ruin 7 or 14 days of fun in the sun. Life's too short.

Yes, it's annoying but as long as you don't leave it till the last minute to check in, we've seen time and time again that VS will do its utmost to look after passengers on the day.

40% of seats on your flights haven't even been allocated yet. As long as you check in with plenty of time, and you're not fussy about specific seat numbers, there'll be plenty left for you.

Remember - VS don't have to offer free seat requests at all. Many airlines charge for them and some don't even give you a choice. It's a perk, not a right.

Because of the extra cost in PE it should be available.
I flew last summer with VA my seat was broken, it would not recline when I told the attendant she said not to worry it was'nt that long a flight and it was an older airplane! When I returned fromm holiday I wrote and complained and was given 15,000 air miles. Thought I would give VA another go what a mistake.

we have managed to seat allocate on our return flight from Boston to Heathrow but not on our outbound flight. We check regulally incase any seats get released before OLCI, but just a questian, when we do check in 24 hours to the second and the seating chart appears, will it show the two seats that have been allocated to us, or is it up to us to pick 2 free ones

Yes it should show your original seats. The reason that you cannot access the seat map on a LHR flight is because the 60% allocation of seats for the flight has been reached. The other 40% should be released when OLCI opens - or sometimes just before

Ah yes the multiple leaves of thin paper with lots of mysterious codes on in a wallet and possibly some luggage tags too !

In those days seat allocation was all done at the airport and you basically sat where you were told to!

We still got a nice booklet on our last ski holiday with Crystal. Had paper tickets, accommodation vouchers, local information, and even reinforced pull out luggage tags. Fairly impressed getting everything together in one place like that!

yes we got a nice travel wallet from crystal with all our details and real tickets,,prefer that to a scap of paper you print off your own computer
