Well, the lady in question is on the LGW MCO run today, 7 days after returning from MCO after those pesky buzzards.

Indeed, this was probably a more serious incident than first thought.

A single engine out is a non-event to well-trained crew, just part of what they do for work - albeit, a little scary for some passengers.

Both engines damaged seriously is definitely a higher workload situation for the crew, and they did well to find time to communicate with the cabin at all.

This is a huge thumbs up from me to the flight crew.

In response to William C's comment about the age of the fleet, my suggestion would be to do a bit of background research on the fleet he is going to be working on. It would do him no harm to know how old individual aircraft are, and besides even if a plane is old that shouldn't be an issue if they are maintained well.

Here's a starting point for the VS fleet, it even includes when the aircraft was delivered...

Hello all.

I've edited this thread to remove the troll comments from William C, who is now banned from the forum. I can confirm he is not in training with Virgin Atlantic. Never was, never will be.

A +1 from me too. It could have easily been a lot worse and goes to show the seriousness of bird strikes if all engines are out, so well done to the crew.

As for the comments about hotels, I imagine there would have been other considerations such as hotel availability which would have affected where people were put up for the night.
