End of MBNA Virgin Card / Miles Earnings

Will be holding on to the Horizon card - no charges for overseas transactions is main driver for that.

But check the exchange rate they offer on overseas transactions is competitive. Post Office credit card almost without fail gives an uber-competitive exchange rate along with no overseas transaction fees.

Bank card exchange rates are generally better in my experience.

The rate is set by Mastercard, visa or American Express. Doesn't make any difference which bank runs the card, the exchange rate is set separately.

Got my Horizon card today. Seems to be same account on MBNA card services with balance carried forward but with new card number - so had to then change the online bank payment details to new VISA number. All quite easy though.

I'll probably close my Tandem card and keep this one. I used to get lots of decent balance transfer offers with my Virgin card, wonder if that will continue.
