My 500 miles appeared today, although there's no record in my shopping account history of either the original 40 or the subsequent 500 [:?]

Got 44 miles on the 8th Jul for my purchase which was around 26 (couple of blu-rays from Tesco). Not sure how they work that out, unless like a purchase at Misco through the BA Store, it's done on the amount minus VAT? The 500 miles appeared this morning, dated 11th Jul :)

Got miles for purchase through Misco (ex VAT) and the 500 bonus miles. Took about 14 days to hit my FC account.

Am I blind or did tesco's have a link for online shopping for Groceries not just tesco direct.

You can access the groceries via link on Tesco Direct, but do you still get the miles??

I made 2 different purchases last week & nothing has arrived in my account & as others have said, although I KNOW I did the purchases thru VA's shopping account, nothing shows up on 'my history'. We'll just have to wait & see.[:?]

Just looking at this offer again, particularly the bonus miles, as I was annoyed that Waterstones had actually split my order into 3 because they didn't have everything in stock, and so it seemed that I would not get the bonus miles, but after reading the wording, it seems to contradict itself.

From the front page : Earn miles with over 1,000 retailers, when you shop through Flying Club Online Shopping. Spend 25 for your 1st purchase through Flying Club Online Shopping and you'll earn 500 miles.

on the terms and conditions : 500 Flying Club miles will be awarded on your 1st purchase over 25 or $50 made anytime on the Flying Club Shopping site only.

I would read that as bonus miles awarded after your first purchase of 25 or over are awarded, as opposed to the front page which I would read as - to get your bonus miles, your first purchase must be over 25

Ever so slighlty different, but which is correct?

thanks

David

Am in a similar boat but with HMV, but as the miles havn't been posted yet I can confirm anything.

My FIRST order (because I read it that to get the bonus it had to be my first one) was for something like 29.00 - so over the 25 limit so I should get the bonus miles. The three items I ordered were on the same order number and the email confirmation states that to, but HMV charged my card for three seperate tranasctions.

If they deny the bonus miles I will be pretty (well very) annoyed because I belive I complied with the requirements in that I spent 25+ and it was my FIRST order.

I also ordered from IWOOT but that was my second order - the miles for this have reached my shopping account but not yet my FC account. Technically this was my second order but it is the first to post miles in my shopping account. I hope this does not make a difference to getting my 500 bonus miles.

If a retailer splits your order, you should still qualify for bonus miles, because however they choose to dispatch the order doesn't change the amount that you ordered.

I have just been looking at the virgin shop and earn site and it occurred to me would it not work out better to use the likes of quidco and us the cash you earn to buy the extra miles. for example i just worked out you can buy 19'000 miles for 300 so that works out at 63 miles per 1 spent.

Through virgin, Play.com pay 1 mile for every 1 spent, quidco offer 6% so on a 20 spend Virgin will give you 20 Miles, but quidco will give you 1.20 enough to buy nearly 2 miles.

Dell, Virgin pay 2 miles per 1 Spent, quidco give 5%, so on 400 spend Virgin will give 800 miles Quidco will give 20 enough to buy 1260 miles

Viking Direct, Virgin pay 3 miles per 1, Quidco give 7% so 100 spend will give 300 points on Virgin, quidco will give 7 enough to buy 441 points.

Now these where just a few and assuming your buying 19000 miles with it but it looks to me that the Quidco way could be better.

your calculations appear to be correct, but as you mention the advantage you get with quidco is only worth it if you save up 300 and put it towards 19,000 FC miles. But surely the way FC prices miles means that you would be probably better off using the 300 cash as it's probably worth more than 19,000 FC in the grand scheme of things. Unless you need to hit a target and are a few thousand miles short. at least that's how i see it, i'm not very experienced though and some seasoned miles whore might be better informed...

Hi all

I might be missing smoething here!

Is there somewhere to check on the FC site when you actually made a purchase or track your purchases to make sure you get all the miles + the bonus miles.

Cheers

I thought that too until I realised that it is at the top right hand corner of the new page that opens when you click on the 'Shop Now' link on the FC page

[:D] Looks like someone is reading our posts - terms and conditions now changed to say '* 500 Flying Club miles will be awarded if your 1st purchase is over 25 or $50 and made through the Flying Club Shopping site.'

(I think I should get my missing 500 miles for pointing out the error [}:)])

Spent around 105 a couple of weeks ago with Tesco Direct (2 points per 1 allegedly) but haven't had any points credited for that (item hasn't shipped yet as pre-ordered but credit card debited). Not sure if the transaction went through properly or if you can get Tesco Clubcard points & Virgin miles for the same purchase.....if so, does mean you can the trade the Tesco CC points for BA miles and get the benefit of 3 different programmes.

Added: Points were added this morning :)
Not sure if just a coincidence that they appeared after I mentioned it or what!

I also had a similar issue with Tesco as I bought some cases of wine to get the 500 points. Took quite a while for anything to happen (this may have been because of some of the wine was out of stock.
I then made another order about a month later. Then some points were posted which I thought were for the second order. Emailed helpdesk and got a response overnight saying that the points were for the first order and the 500 miles are on their way.
Absolutely amazing service from something that must be so difficult to track.

I think they are being a bit slap dash with the miles... most online shopping queries take ages to track and investigate. I genuinely think that granting the miles is quicker than investigating.

Hi all

I purchased a product from Mothercare for my daughter, the miles earned are showing but the 500 bomus miles are not. There is an * below the section detailing miles earned, stating *one time mileage reward, but no indication of the 500 bonus miles.

Is this normal? will the 500 bonus miles appear later?

Cheers[y]

It can take a while to show up. Either way, you have to wait 40 days before you can use the 'claim missing miles' option.
