Hi DL, the new site contains a lot less forums, to try and make the site easier to use and navigate. There isn't now a specific cards forum, if it is VS related post in the main VS forum, the departure lounge.

Oooh, I like the chat from the Who's Online button on the bottom of the screen!

There is also a chat room, so multiple users can chat at once. That is accessed from the user toolbar at the bottom left of the screen.
Great site Pete. Still finding lots of nice touches

I am still having a problem with log in/out. If, when on the forums and logged in, I then go from the forums to say my profile then all is well. However when I go back to the forums I find that I am logged out.
Still thoroughly enjoying this new site however, now off to discover something else. y)

As Pete has said, the log in/out issue is just something we will have to cope with for a short period whilst the old and new sites sort themselves out. I am also having quite a few problems but it will be worth it in the long run.
Hey Neil thanks...it is ALREADY worth it y) y) y)
Was offline for a couple of hours while driving to South London, so apologies; the domain name handover is still clearly taking place, but I've updated all the links to point at v-flyer.com, so if you're seeing v-flyer.webeditors.co.uk then you may see problems until your ISP resolve v-flyer.com to the new site (you'll know when your ISP is up-to-date when you enter v-flyer.com into the address bar, and it doesn't redirect to v-flyer.webeditors.co.uk).
Your patience is appreciated whilst we go through the switchover,
Pete

Just saying hi to everyone and checking out the new look. y)

No it wasn't a VS card I wanted to make a post about

DL
Yes I see what you mean DL, there really is no place to bring up say an amex discussion......
Tell you what, post your question here
http://www.v-flyer.com/forum/index.php? ... =viewforum
till we figure out if we are going to bring that part back.

DL, if it is a non VS card the you should post it in the baggage hall forum, which is for all non VS travel related posts.
I understand the new site it quite different to the old site, and it certainly does take some getting used to. I would ask you to stick with it though, as I think once you have used it for a short while and get your head around how things work on here you will find the benefits on the new style that Pete has created.
If you, or any other members aren't sure on something, just ask and a Mod will help point you in the right direction.

Change is a tricky thing, but hopefully you'll see that the benefits make a little bit of pain worthwhile getting used to it.
The forums have been rationalised so if it's a Virgin-related post it goes in the Departure Lounge. If it's not Virgin, but something else travel-related, then that's The Baggage Hall. If it's Social, it's The Pub. Off topic, then in The Galley, and members only in The Clubhouse. That, and a few obvious specific forums like itineraries and trip reports, cuts out all the confusion of multiple forums for hotels, cards, gurus, travel tech, flying club, onboard experience, Manchester and a host of other sub sections that didn't make it easy for new visitors. Part of the problem was the old site had a broken search facility, so you couldn't find anything, and categorisation was the only hope for using it. On this site, searching works - and it's pretty fast too.
Stick with it, and I really hope you'll learn to love the new tools in the way I've tried to design them to be easy for everyone - both old hands at the forum and newbies on V-Flyer for the first visit.

Interesting, I wondered earlier where the Clubhouse had gone, and presumed you'd merged it into the Galley.
Thing is, I can't see the Clubhouse in my Board index, and I am actually logged in ... ?|

Sorry to be tedious but where is the clubhouse?
Ok, looks like a lot of members haven't made it into the 'Sponsors' group. I'll try and fix that tonight so members can see the Clubhouse forums, etc.
Is there anyway to compress these posts?
I mean the members info on the right for each post takes up a third of the height of the screen, so you get a one line post and then masses of blank space which equals loads of scrolling.
And, I'm just asking, but does this forum support a post preview fucntion? So when you see a new topic on the menu you can put your mouse over it and read the first few lines? It helps you decide if it's worth entering a topic or not IMO.

Thanks Pete, I genuinely like the site, appreciate your work (and others) and hope I'm being constructive in finding things or commenting.

That's a relief I thought I was the only one excluded from the Clubhouse :0
A purple boarding card, pre-booked cowshed treatment, glass of T10 with lime, a proper amenity kit, packet of polos and a Freedom Menu please!
