Maybe something else to add to yourt list but any chance of being able to choose a pic from your gallery to be your profile pic rather than having to upload the same one again?

Ah that explains how I lost my old profile picture and now when I try to get it back it tells me it's too big to upload?

Just how big is your profile pic? The upload limit is set to 1MB per image, which for website viewing is *huge*.

Pete - I really am completely IT illiterate so was amazed when I managed to get a profile picture in the first place! I originally took it from my pictures file on the Mac and when I tried to reinstate it or any of the others recently I kept being told they were too big to upload. I will have to get one of my children to look into it for me.

This is probably one of the most stupid questions ever asked on this site, but here goes.

While viewing and delving in and out of 'active posts' in the previous incarnation of v-flyer, one simply hit the 'back' button to get back to the list of active posts. But in the new version, each time I hit the back button I have to refresh and retry the page.

Can anyone please tell me why :|

I don't! In the initial stages I was looking at the "View New Posts" link and have only just today tried the Active posts (blame it on dodgy dongles, harassing days trying to connect, various trips to Vodacom outlets before succumbing and persuading my brother to take me to the Gateway outlet in Durban and trying to conserve credit to allow me to snag 12 A&K but alas not one of the 14s).

It's only today that I have tried a lot of the forum functions and have spent today catching up! The back button is working perfectly for me

Hi Pete, I do not know whether it is my settings in user control panel or to do with the site but I have just made a couple of wall posts and the time of those is being shown, in my profile, as 5.41am and 5.42am. All the other wall posts seem a tad early too. ?|

Yes - something very weird with times over the last few days in the Community forum - seems to have its clock set back in time, but can't figure out why.

Nope. One of the goals of the new site was to reduce the huge wall of fora that you could potentially post in, leading to confusion when discussing overlapping topics (did Hilton points-earning go in Flying Club or Hotels?) and making it much simpler for new users to start posting.

I havent put over my thoughts until now about the new look, and im pleased to say that i am just about there now in understanding the new layout and "I REALLY LIKE IT". At first i was completely flumoxed ?| at where everything was , but its taken a while to understand that actually its been streamlined and a lot of content is not there anymore, and now that i undestand this it all makes sense.
Top site pete oo) and thanks for all the hard work you put in and indeed everyone else who helped, and more importantly to all V-flyers who make this the best forum on the web.

cheers

I've just found this site and as a regular Virgin flyer hope to both receive and offer information. I'm slowly getting round the site and it looks great!

I'm of to SFO in four weeks so I'll be looking out for posts about UC as not flown the LHR to SFO route before. Hope to add comments in the coming weeks! Suzy

Hi Suzy and welcome to V-Flyer. y)

Have a look at the Trip Reports for the SFO route and you'll get an idea of what to expect.

You can find them from The Toolbox at the top of the page. Look under Trip Report Index and from the drop-down list select VS19 and VS20

Hi Darren
Thanks for the welcome!

Looks like we might be travelling on the same day - 39 days 14 hrs to go!!
I won't be on the VS20 as I'm flying down to MCO but be interested to see latest TRs on VS16.

Traveling same day as about half a dozen other V-Flyers then, if you're flying out on the 12th. Pity we'll all be at Heathrow while you're at Gatwick.
