Hi, here is my first post so here goes:

I have used the VA site to request seats 61A,C and 62A,C for our flight to St Lucia in October. I chose these seats so that we could split up the kids and give them both a window seat. For some reason the system keeps resetting my request to show the 2 adults in 61 and the children in 62 rather than 1 adult with 1 child as I keep entering. As we were intending using OLCI, does this mean that the system will automatically move us to 4 seats together as part of the family rule?

My intention was if this happened when I was doing OLCI, then I would request seats 23 D,E,F,G. These seats are currently shown as unavailable so I am assuming that they are part of the 40% of the seats held back from pre-selection. I have read on seatguru that these seats are not that good (limited recline and next to the toilets), I liked the look of a small cabin - any comments about these seats.

HI and welcome.

First of all - yes row 23 is usually held until on-line check in, so it is possible you could get those later. I actually like that area the best in economy.

With regards to rows 61 and 62 I would give VA a call - they should be able to sort out the seating for you - the computer system doesn't like splitting up families.

Hi Jilly,

Thanks for the reply. I did think about giving VA a call, but my last few attempts at calling VH has left me very frustrated - keep you on hold for at least 20 minutes then can't handle the question (call center in India). Perhaps VA are different, maybe I will give them a try.

Call VA direct regarding your seating even though you've booked through VH, and they should be able to help you.

Hi, maybe i've misread but i don't see the problem - if it is letting you have 61AC/62AC - all be it two adults and two kids together rather than one of each, you're still getting to reserve these seats right?

If you are moved when you come to OLCI, it wont be the computer at the time doing this, it will have already been changed by someone trying to accomodate everyone on board.

I've had trouble using the online seat selector in firefox - gone and done it in IE on my husband's PC and it's worked fine, same seats. So if you're using Firefox try another browser.

Many thanks for all the replies, I think that I will give VA a call.

Alexis, I am using Firefox just tried with IE and it got really confused when I tried to swap around the seats. Came out of the system without changing just in case I messed my seats up altogether.

Lipstick, What I was worried about is that the two adults are sat in front of the two children, hence technically my family are not sat togther.

I've had exactly the same situation with our seats. The system keeps switching the 2 children to sit next to each other - no matter how many times I've switched them back. Will see what happens at OLCI on Monday.....
