We've never given Revivals much thought as we don't live far from LHR/LGW and generally want to get home asap after landing.

On our recent flight back from BOS we decided we fancied giving Revivals a go on arrival and, whilst chatting to the IFBC, I asked her how to find Revivals after landing. She asked if we'd been issued with Revivals invitations on check-in at BOS to which I replied no. She went on to say that not everyone in UC gets to use it, all depends on type of ticket you're on. I thought nothing more of it and simply assumed that as we were on cheapo G's we weren't entitled and thus had not been offered invitations.

Well, I've just come off the phone to Premier having booked CDC's (using miles) for spring DXB trip and one of the questions the chap asked was whether or not we intended to use Revivals on arrival at LHR, the reason being that they like to insert a note so that the driver knows you'll be longer. I was surprised & said to him that I didn't think we'd be allowed as we're on G's and he replied saying that we are definitely entitled to use Revivals. So we could have used it after all on return from BOS a couple of weeks back!

Cheers,

James

I have used it when flying on a Z with no problem before I was Au, and fully intend to use it when flying G next month.

I think the IFBT must have made a mistake unless someone knows different.

James,

Revival's is definitely worth doing and as per the Clubhouse, an 'invite' is not required as long as flying on an Upper Class fare of any type ( J,D,Z,G ) although I think op-up's are not allowed.

Thanks,

David.

To gain access to revivals you need one of two things. A purple UC boarding stub (or just have been sat in UC - they have a passenger list at reception) or a FC Gold Card. You can use Revivals on any UC fare code (GZDJ).

The main thing to remember is that no 'guests' are allowed into revivals, due to the more exclusive, intimate size of the lounge. The also 'reserv the right' to refuses entry to Au members if it is busy with J pax, although I have never actually seen them invoke that right.

Well I wish you the best but do not see that happening. IIRC Revivals closes at 1:30 PM and the Dubai flight arrives at 12:40 PM. I was not able to get in Revivals, due to a loooong wait (23 or so) for laptop security cable that had to be gate checked because the gate security dude at Dubai thought it was a weapon.

Thanks Ben, the chap at Premier did mention time would be tight but said it closes at 14:00 not 13:30. You're right though, just looked at va.com and its def 13:30. Hey ho, if we have time we'll call in!

A FC Gold Card gets you in for sure.

A purple UC boarding stub is checked against a passenger list before entry is granted.

If you have a purple UC boarding stub as a result of a op-up at check-in, you do not get lounge access at the either ends. If you have a UC ticket of any kind, J,D,Z or G, you will appear on that passenger list.

Revivals was my favourite part of a recent JFK-LHR in Upper. Sure the Clubhouse and the UCS are fab, but Revivals was just perfect in so many ways. A shower and shave.. massage.. breakfast and coffee.. morning paper.. and a smile. And when I was there it was almost deserted, so completely quiet and tranquil.

Aaaaahhhhh..... [8D]
