Is it normal that FC Membership numbers change between Red and Silver level?

I've jsut reached silver and noticed on the webpage that my number is now different starting 008 instead of 006 (I guess that's how this site picks up your Avatar).

Now the important question.... Will it matter when i turn up at SQ's checkin desk with my old RED number? (Silver card is in the post somewhere in the UK)
This is especially important as this clutch of flights will take me to within 1TP of gold.
I think I'll note the new number anyway and keep all my boarding cards just to make sure i get the TP's

Yup.

They change with every level.

006=Red, 008=Silver, 009=Gold. Others for kids accounts and FlyingCo. accounts.

The numbers you have held will always be linked to your "current" account though.

I'd definitely take a print-out of your most recent status until the card arrives for SQ, as I don't believe their system is able to show a linked (new) account from the red card number.

Thanks for the reassuring reply... I've subtly scammed this trip and managed to "blag" a meeting in Singapore on the way back from mumbai to justify not taking a direct flight... So i'd hate not to get my TP's after all the effort i've put in![:o)]

Also keep your boarding pass stubs, I think these are usually used for reclaiming miles etc.

Of course, whilst you are in Singapore there is an easy and cheap way to get more TPs that would also help towards renewal for next year. [:?]

[:o)]Tempting, very Tempting! With any luck I'll have need to travel to Singapore through to the middle of next year, so if I don't have enough TP's for renewal, I will try to fully understand that famous goldrun!

007 used to be for Red's but there are so many Red members now that they started to use 006. Your accounts stay linked, so if miles are sent to yoru old red number and you are now Silver, they will find their way to you. What is to note though, is if you drop back down, you will not go back to your old red nubmer, you will be issued a new number within that tier.

Thanks,
Richard
