Seating in Econ

Hi everyone! New to the site today, very impressed!
Me & the girlfriend are off to nyc in Oct flying on VS03 then returning on VS04. Our seats have already been booked, 64A&C and returning on 63A&C. Are these good seats for legroom ect? Flown VS a number of times before but only from LGW, so hoping for better IFE than Nova, but as to the econ seating,are the LHR 744's much different to the LGW ones?

Hi Tinx 02 and welcome aboard,

On the 744's rows 63 and 64 are at the back of the bus where it narrows so you have a 2-4-2 config, this provides more elbow room and a bit of a space between the seat and the window. you can stretch your legs out into this space also. I don't think the pitch is any more than other Y seating.

Y seating is pretty much the same on both LHr and LGW planes, some LHR planes have been fitted with new seats combined with v:port but pitch and config remain the same.

I sat in the very same seats on my flights to and from JFK in April (VS045 And VS004). As Bazz said, the seat pitch is the same but the extra room to your left does make a difference as you can strech your legs, and also if you are lucky enough to get an aircraft fitted with V:Port the box is under seat 'a' but it doesn't really matter due to the space on the left.

You are also the first to get served with food and drinks in this area, so you will always get your first chioce.

Next time I fly with Virgin, I will try to prebook these seats again.

Thanks for the info Bazz/Rich.I shall leave them as they are,really looking forward to the trip just hope we get V.Port!! 6th time lucky if we do! There will be a trip report when i get back hopfully with pics.Just wish it was UC suite[:(] One day i hopes:)
