Greetings all,

I have my first PE flight later this year to JNB. I'm currently booked into an aisle seat but wondering whether or not to change to a window seat so that I'm not disturbed by passing traffic through the night.

My problem is that I hate waking people up if I need to get the to loo. Do the new seats offer sufficient legroom for me to get out to the aisle without waking the person next to me?

Many thanks,
Sascha

Not really.

It's MORE legroom (38") but you'll most likely have to at least shuffle legs, if not get up, should someone want to get out.

Why not try and grab a Bulkhead seat(the A/C or H/K 2's)at the airport? You can then keep your aisle seat and your seating partner should just be able to get past you without making you move/disturb you. As Paul has said, you will struggle on any of the other rows.

I would love the bulkhead, and that will definately be my goal upon check-in. Wouldn't a gold card member be able to book those before they open at check-in though?

I don't believe so (though as always ISTBC).

I flew EWR-LHR a couple years ago and nabbed the PE upper deck exit row... lots of room there too!

That said I've booked upper deck windows for my upcoming trip in July...

Ahh, maybe I'm getting confused with BA. Do they open the bulkhead seat for online check-in, or is it only at the airport? Is there a charge like the exit seats in Y?

Bulkheads can only be allocated at the airport, so best to get there early to give yourself the best chance. There is no charge for PE bulkhead/exit row seats.

Hmmm - I think so, and have asked VS repeatedly to open these up.
