Mileage Reward UCS on VS017?

Hi

I am looking for an Upper Class Reward flight on the VS017 (LHR-EWR) in early October on a Thursday evening. Currently there is only PE available.

Was going to take this and hope that there is the chance to upgrade to UCS in the week before or on the day at the airport.

My question is what are the chances of a single UCS being available for mileage upgrade on the Thursday?

Is this flight usually rammed in Upper Class? Is there a good chance of a seat being available or should I look at a different option?

Your advice/views are welcome as always.

I'd say a fair to good opportunity but don't bank on it. I've done this on the day on several occasions and suggest the best way is to go to the airport earlyish and ask at the ticketing counter.
