While in America I treated myself to some QC3s :D Of course this meant I had to experiment with them right, left and centre while on board VS20 and very nice it was too....until I got home. I was showing Aer John my purchase and he commented that there was no connector to the IFE system. After a series of "Oh, no there isn't" "Oh, yes there is" I checked and to my dismay disccovered he was right. After checking all my luggage I have come to the conclusion that I lost it on the flight. I recall that when it came to converting the suite into a bed it stuck as if something was wedged there but a quick rummage around produced nothing and although I checked once more when it re-converted to see if I could see anything, the seat yielded nothing more than a bit of fluff [:#]

Is there any point in my contacting VS giving times, dates and suite number or should I just contact Bose for a replacement?

Alernatively if anyone is travelling on V-HOT, suite 16A in the immediate future could they please have a quick root around and see if they can find it [:w]

This is the 3.5mm stereo to 2x 3.5mm mono jack adapter. Useful when travelling on Air NZ, Qantas, AC, SQ, etc.

You might be able to pick one of these up from a halfway decent audio/electronics shop.

If it's been found during cleaning, I'd guess the cleaners threw it away?

Hi HL,

Do you mean this?
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mod ... m&doy=12m7

You could phone VS or Bose. I've heard good things about Bose CS so they may be able to help you. I've never actually used my adaptor though, I thought that was the preserve of charter airlines.....[:p]

Thanks,
Richard

I can't see why you would need the adapter on VS. I am 99.9% sure that all VS seats just have a single 3.5mm stereo jack plug for headphones - which fit both the crappy VS supplied ones & your own, as 3.5mm is the standard headphone jack size. This was certainly the case on my last VS flights in both Economy & Upper (admittedly, only on LGW/MAN fleet though).

Bose CS is excellent, IMHO. A few months ago I noticed my QC2's had developed a fault akin to an intermittent loose connection. They were out of guarantee and I no longer had the original paperwork. I took them into a Bose store to ask if they could repair them, not to blag a replacement.

The manager immediately offered a free replacement brand new boxed pair! I was both surprised and delighted. [y]

HL. If you don't mind me asking, how much were the QC3's as they are on my list for September? PM me if you don't want to go public.

Thanks

They are $350 in the US. We bought some for Sarah in Orlando last year as I already had QC2's - purchased at the Apple store.

Ahem! I got them for $299 + sales tax at an outlet mall in Petaluma, CA

Thanks, everybody, for that information. Yes, Richard that is what I meant. I'll give Bose a call tomorrow

We just got a set of QC3s in the States at a price similar to above. However, they only came with one battery and a charger with a fixed US plug. The ones I got from Dixon's cost £234 but had two batteries, and adaptors for just about all countries for the charger.

So not such a great saving for buying in the States
