Overall a good performance by Virgin at the awards.

P.S How can easyjet be the 3rd best LCC in the world???

Happy to see Virgin America take no1 spot for that catagory for next year what do you think??

Congrats VS! (Sort of a given at this point.)

I guess a good question would be, "Who could top the VS LHR CH or has plans to?"

When you have a fair lump of the fleet kittred out with either Nova or Odyssey and the amount of complaints that V-Port crashes its hardly surprising really.

I notice (shock, horror!!!) that VS are not in the top five for buisness or economy catering! [:0][:0]

Best airline Transatlantic????? [V][V]

thanks for the link[y][y]

Well Done VS - I bet BA are a bit miffed for not featuring in the top lounges or catering[}:)]

On the contrary, buns.

I'd put money (and hope) that VS are EMBARRASSED to have slipped so far down on the transatlantic mark, IFE ratings, and not even appear on several of the others.

So, the clubhouse is great? Wow - that's less than 50/400 passengers per aircraft (excl. Golds) who get to experience that and even for them, at MOST it makes up around 20% of the total "experience" of flying VS.

350/400 don't see any of it, and think the entire transatlantic product (on a like-for-like basis) is WORSE than that of the company who you originally set out to beat. It wasn't exactly a small survey either - 1.6m people [:0]

Not forgetting that it is Skytrax behind this, it's still a poor show if you ask me.

Well done on the lounge award (it IS a great lounge [y]), but sorry, I can't get excited about results like that [:#]

Paul

You make a very valid point about the overall VS product - I agree that despite re-vamps the magic is fading in certain aspects.

The fact that this is something that V-Flyers have become increasingly vocal about should hopefully send a message that cutting out features (irrespective of the cabin flown in) will eventually turn passengers away.

Don't worry; VS will soon be joining BA up there in number of strikes[:0]

But BA, Airline of the Year last year, went from first to tenth, so a little schadenfreude in the VS HQ probably.

I'd agree with the IFE, ICE is better than VPort, especially of late as the film choice seems to be a little more bland and dated. VPort was excellent, others have caught up and now VS should be thinking about the future - reliability being one of the key things as well as the duration of its availability.

ICE as a system is vastly superior, newer aircraft have the new Panasonic operating system. The content might vary from month to month, but with regards to reliability, it's ICE all the way.
