LHR UC Cabin

Having only flown UC on the Orlando route, it looks like I'm going to taking my first LHR UC flight (Japan) for a business trip - I've been given the option of either BA or Virgin.

I really enjoy the LGW planes with the small UC cabin (I'm quite a nervous flyer) - honest opinions please, based on my limited experience flying the Virgin fleet so far, do you think I might find the LHR UC cabin 'too large'?

If you like small cabins then you will have to fly BA FIRST. BA Club is fairly large cabin compared to my UC flight to Vegas. Try and get your firm to pay for FIRST or suffer a big cabin whatever airline in Business class - this is a popular (and high revenue) route so all have large & fully occupied J Class cabins. If you must fly J then I would book BA and get a comfirmed seat on the upper deck.

It's likely to be a bit breezy on the upper deck flying to NRT with VS though as it's always an A346 A/C [:w]

One thing you can be sure of though is it the Japanese crew will make sure you are looked after the entire flight. The Japanese crew are a credit to VS [y] [oo]

Can we please stick to answering the questions people have directly answered, as opposed to being a walking billboard for the first-class cabin that Mr Walsh's metal tubes provide?

Clare, I'd try and get the forward section of the UCS cabin since the front galley appears to be relatively unused. My personal recommendation would be seats 4/5K. The only potential distration being the WC. But I'd rather this than IFBT / Bar / Galley traffic.

Thanks everyone for the great advice, I love the UCS so will stick with Virgin (not that there was ever any question of me not lol). I'll try and get seats 4/5.

We flew in 4 & 5K to NRT in April. Absolutely no problem with those seats whatsoever, and traffic to the loo did not seem noticeable. I find that most people seem to use the loos to the rear, especially as they are next to the bar.

The first suite equipped plane i flew was the A346 and it didnt seem as large and expansive as i thought it would. Once you are in your suite, especially one of those that faces the wall (like these seats do), you really feel like you are in your own little bubble.
