I just checked the fares Ex SYD again on VS and I must say VS must be out of its mind if they want to compete with BA/QF/CX with the fares they are offering.
CX: SYD-HKG-LHR (Stopovers allowed in HKG ) - $6,999 AUD (I Class)
QF/BA SYD-LHR - $8,872 - Book in C Class (which is relatively flexible and also 1 way Upgrade to First on BA)
VS - $8817 NO STOPOVER permitted in HKG and Book in Z Class!
I hope the VS marketing department in SYd will finally get their act together.
I sopke to my travel agent and he told me many Corporates/Business travellers are just not interested in VS (Especially they are new in SYD and less flexibility in the schecule. And more importantly, the fare is pretty ordinary! - Also given the Bad Press Virgin Blue had recently - plummet Share Price.
