Hi
I'm new here so forgive any lack of knowledge. I have travelled with Virgin for past 10 years. So far have only travelled to USA Orlando X5, LAX X2 Miami X1. So far always Economy. This time going to Mauritius & decided to try PE as its last time I will be funding my eldest 2 as they are now 19 & 21 (students)! Also as I suffer from sciatica and it gave me so much trouble on my last LAX flight I though the extra leg room in PE might be better.
I am trying to find out if we will have the new PE seats. Tried ringing Virgin but no help there. Got one of their 'call centres' and was told that 'only Boeng planes have the new seats and you will be on an airbus so no'
Also picked row 22 window, aisle & 3 middle seats. Chose back row as we had the back row economy on one trip to Orlando and could keep our seat backs reclined throughout flight.(Previous flight had people behind complaining every time we reclined ours as they said they didnt have enought room!!)
Greatly appreciate any advice/opinions...... so sorry for going on so much!![:I]

Hi Helen and welcome to V-Flyer [y]

You will be pleased to hear that all flights departing LHR now have the new PE seats. The only exception is 1 aircraft (G-VSUN) but she is due to get new seats in all cabins in the next few weeks or so anyway.

The best seats to go for on the Airbus A/C (which I think work the MRU route) is row 18. This row is always blocked and you need to ask for it at check-in. This row is the very front row in the PE cabin and so gives you a bit more leg room and you get a leather covered cushion to rest your feet on rather than a bar on the seat in front.

Regards

Thank you for the quick response James. We will try and get to check in extra early & see if we can change. My 14 year old is keen to know if the new seats mean he will have the v port. Only had that once going to LAX and thought it was great.
Best Wishes
Helen

It depends on the aircrat type. If you are on a -600 then yes you will have V Port, if you are on a -300 then possibly not, as in July 08 one of the -300s will have V Port, 5 will not.
