Guru's

Can you give your companion ticket earned through spend on VA Amex Card to another person? Would like to give to my brother in law who is getting married so they can fly UC. Is this do-able?

Thanks in advance,

ISTBC but believe the answer is now no.I wouldn't bother trying to use them with a J fare- cheaper to buy 2 Zs more often than not.

As DL says, it will almost certainly be cheaper for them just to by 2 Z fares. To be honest the companion ticket is pretty useless to your average pax, as you have to buy a full priced ticket in whatever class and they are almost always more expensive than 2 discounted ones. They seem to work best for people flying on business who can then take someone on the same flight for just taxes.

they are best used on expensive y routes such as JNB or with S class tix. We recently saved 1000GBP on a JNB Y routing with this.

thanks all for your advice. spoke to FC and unfortunately they have closed the loophole so it is only for the card holder. And not for use on the LHR-SYD route either, due to the 'high demand' for that route.

Thanks all!
