Hi there,

I tend to traveling in Upper alone and have often wandered if I should invite a lone economy traveler into the CH as my 'guest'.. Has anyone ever done this? I suppose it could be one way of approaching an attractive lady.. ;)

Not sure about random strangers but I have read trip reports where fellow v-flyers who are on the same flight but in economy as an UC v-flyer have gone into the CH with them, I think thats a great thing to do, and I will be sure to post a few days before my flight asking if anyone would like to come in and join us for a drink [:)]

You can take whoever you want in to the CH as your guest, random or not. We actually had this happen at JFK, slightly strange circumstance but it was a very nice to be invited and we made some new friends.

As Ptarmigan, here on V-Flyer we have the itineraries forums which allows users to see who is travelling, and when and quite often members who are Au or flying UC arrange to meet others and take them in as their guest.

Remember you 'guest' must be travelling on a VS ticket valid for that day.

Personally, anyone hanging around at the foot of the stairs asking would get rather short thrift.

I once took someone I started chatting to at the check in queue as SFO into the BA lounge - however he wasn't attractive (at least to me!)

Im more than happy to accompany anyone into the clubhouse as their guest. And I know how to behave... well I didnt get thrown out last time... and i had a few glasses of champers (and a cocktail)...
so feel free to invite me! although at current prices it looks like Lufthansa is getting the nod over VS... dont like full price Y enough to use my miles to upgrade...

IIRC, they would track that you are bringing in the guest. So, at your own risk. I'm happy to exchange a few PMs with a fellow board member and accompany them in if I am traveling alone and the circumstances work out, but much like Mr Wheeler, not sure I'd be parading around T3 advertising to any VS passengers willing to provide company in exchange for access [;)]

My company uses VS a lot. It's not too unusual to see colleagues loitering in the vicinity of the clubhouse waiting for someone from the company to wander by with a Gold card!
