I would like to take this opportunity to thank the two FSMs on my recent flights to/from HKG. On my outbound flight, being only a lowly silver flying club member flying in economy sitting right at the back of the plane, the FSM aproached my seat during the first drink service and greeted me and my partner by our names welcoming us onboard etc etc. I thought that was a really nice touch and the first I have experienced especially only being a silver FC member.

On my return flight, the FSM was less personal but still he greeted every single passenger in my economy section. A very nice touch making the passengers feel valued [y].

Both FSMs ran a very tight ship and the crew worked for them extremely hard. Excellent service, excellent crew and a very enjoyable flight.

Great to hear! Its always worth dropping a note into customer services, especially if you can remember their names. If not, the flight number and date should be adequate to find the FSM's in question.

Thanks,
Sarah

Sarah's right, a letter or email to the right people will mean the great service has been logged and noted. If the system works, not only will the crew be picked out for cream cakes, but other crews will be pointed in the right direction if needed.

It's a win win for us and it only costs 5 minutes of our time.

Amazing how something so simple can make or break a fight isn't it.

Definately write or email customer services with the details to get the crew concerned some recognition.

However, there is one caveat (in my experience) - if you want to complain about any aspect of the flight, do it in a seperate letter / email to the one that praises the crew. In the past, when I have emailed in praising crew I have had a snail-mail letter in reply thanking me for my comments, naming the crew & stating that my comments would be passed onto them.

When I emailed in complaining about the UC food, but also praising crew, I just got a reply to the complaint aspect of my comments. I strongly suspect the positive comments I made were ignored and the feedback was just put in the complaint category.

Or even worse - I once wrote in a praise letter and I got a response apologising for the issues and that the crew would be spoken to about their behaviour!

Raises the question- exactly what were they doing that you found great but VA didn't.....[:?][}:)]
