Flexibility of Rewards

Evening all

I will hopefully be taking a trip to the US October-January. Have miles in the bank and am planning to buy L class tickets and then upgrade to Upper Class (out to New York and back from San Fransisco). Only problem is I probably won't have final confirmation until August.

Having made a dummy booking there is a G reward coming back from San Fransisco on New's Years Day 2010 (my preferred date for coming home - need to be back for the 4th). My question is if I go ahead and book now and the trip falls apart, will I be able to get my miles refunded? Also, how much is the change fee for an L class ticket?

If you cancel a Rewrd Flight, you will get 75% back along with a £30 fee for the refund as set out in 6.1.5 of the T&C's

Any changes will attract a £25 fee and be subject to availability of reward seats.
