Swapping reward flight SYD route - Sorted

Eventually get this resolved;

SYD run later in the year, upgraded L's
Out on the VS238 to join the VS200 in HKG- as no G's showing for the full VS200 LHR-SYD. which basically stops in HKG
I'm trying to find availablity on the VS200 straight through;

However if I dummy book LHR to HKG, on the VS200 (same flight) there are G's available.
Hurray! reward seats on the 1st leg....
Lets get them swapped...

First call to FC last week- 'computer says no'
'These G seats can only be booked for flights to HKG only and not the SYD route'?? [V]

Annoyed & confused, I seek conversation with FC again today:
Speak to someone completely different at premier team, who does it no problem at all...[?]
Now all booked through on VS200 and more time in CH as opposed to hanging round HKG

We had a similar logistic problem last year, where our connection booked by Virgin left before the incoming flight - also booked by Virgin.

After a few panics, they sorted it all out beautifully - they do seem to win more of these than they lose
