Upgrading

Can you upgrade a reward seat. I have booked PE using miles and wondered whether I can upgrade using cash.

No, you can only upgrade with miles.

The only chance you might have is for an on the day offer at the airport, but I wouldn't hold your breath!

I do vagueley remember seeing adverts at the airport offering PE to UC upgrades for around 500 per sector per person but I have no idea if they are still there or if they are allowed on reward bookings.

Of course you could buy miles and then use them to upgrade if you want to do it in advance and there is availability...

Thanks for your replies - I was thinking of buying miles. Am I right in thinking that an upgrade one way from PE to UC is 20,000?

Yes, it is 20k miles to upgrade from PE to UC one way, providing there are 'G' fare seats available.

How can I find out if there are G fares availabile other than ringing Virgin

JUSt do a dummy booking after logging into your FC account. It should then say if there is availabilty on the date and give surrounding dates too.
