A new section seems to have appeared on the VS web site, similar to the BA shopping site, you can now earn miles as you shop. There's a double miles offer on from tomorrow until the 12 July too:

E.g. 12 miles/1 at Waterstones and 20 miles/1 at IWOOT

Link here.

Also:

Superb... I think I've just earned about 5000 miles !

I noticed if you check the 'My Account History' (found at Information) and then click the link to report missing miles then it takes you to the BA website ! Someone obviously has a sense of humour :)

It works okay for me now. However, I still get sent to BA if I click on some of the retailer links on the Click Report section (Comet and Currys both send me to BA, wheras Borders goes to the correct page). Bizarre...

It says if you spend $50 you get the 500 bonus miles though!

Lovely jubbly. I may dump my BA mile collection attempts. I'm only at 3000.

Virgin miles, with one return flight under my belt (economy!) and HEAPS of recommendations is just under 15,000! :)

Argh! I spent 300 on a new netbook via Dixons 2 days ago.... Maybe should return and rebuy to get my points or is that too geeky?

oohhh what a dilema

do I follow the VS links and get a few extra miles or stick with using a cashback site and getting some back.?

I'll have to get the calculator out but I will do one 25 purchase of dvds for the 500 miles.

I noticed that flights are EXCLUDED from the offer by expedia but not opodo

I use the BA Miles Store to keep my BA miles topped up - I earned a lot of miles using them to link to the Apple Store!

ok, so have made an order via Play.com, but there is no where to enter my FC number, so how do they link my points across??

If it is like the BA site, you firstly have to log in to your Flying Club account on the VS site and then click the link to the retailers site from there.

I accessed that way, unless I took too long timed out in the process. Will try again

I tried to do a similar thing at John Lewis.
I bought a bed and mattress for about 3k and then the week after they started to accept Amex! I asked about it but they said I'd have to bring the bed in to get it put through the till.
Am now ordering a case of wine from Tesco for the 500 miles.

This is why I was leaving FC to join BA but now I am not so sure.

Next time you click on a link using FC page, you'll see a few really long web addresses appear as it connects. This is registering the referral from your FC account and it goes across that way.

Signed into my FC account, went thru the shopping partners link and into Play.com, made an order but don't see how this will be then credited to get miles? Surely need to enter my FC number somewhere along the way??
