Hi all,

We are planning a family holiday to the US next year.
There will be 2 adults and 4 children although 2 of the kids will be 12 by then.

We would like to fly to New York or Phiadelphia any time from 23rd July onwards for about 18 days. i.e. school holidays [|:)]

We are flexible on days.

As for class it just depends what 'deal' or price we can get.

Both myself and Mrs T are Silver FC members and between us have around 60k miles.

Any advice or tips on when to book or use of miles would be gratefully received.

I have tried to narrow the variables but realise there are still quite a few and there are no right or wrong answers.

Cheers

Tim

Well if you want to fly with VS then you will need to fly in to NYC as they don't fly in to PHL.

NYC is usually the cheapest US destination VS fly to, as nearly always features in the sales. The recent sale was 250ish for Y and 500ish for PE, so I would suggest booking in a sale period if at all possible. With NYC also being the most serviced route by VS (4 x daily) then reward seats are usually fairly easy to come by providing you can be a little bit flexible and book a fair distance in advance, do a few dummy reward bookings on the VS site and you will see the availability.
