Notice that the strap is coming away from my oversized laptop bag I use for hand luggage ; I guess its not designed to take the big laptop + extra batteries + charger + books + anything else I can cram in after all !

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get it stiched back up fairly quickly ? off to SFO for a week at the end of the month so I need to get something done by then.

Thanks - Nick.

Try your local high street shoe repairer. They are pretty resourceful and usually cheap for odd ball repairs.

Good luck.

Timpsons are not cheap but will almost certainly do it within a hour (at least our local branch has done similar in a few minutes.

But if you need a new one, I can recommend Lowepro.

Thanks for that - Ive dropped it off at the dry cleaners & they are hopeful that their shoe repair people can sort it out.. we will see !

Ive got a Lowe rucksack somewhere, its been around the world without problems but I haven't used it since I got a straight job.. more's the pity !

Interested to hear how well they repair it.

My bag was damaged in a similar way coming back from Sydney with VS, and they say that sort of damage is not covered by them.
