Just found this page - Virgin Blue air passes.

Seems to solve a lot of our logistical problems, at very reasonable prices. Anyone used it?

Any comments or alternatives?

I've used similar passes with Qantas several years ago.

Not sure if this is the same system but you had to have an international air ticket to get the cheap internal fares. I paid about 120 for 3 domestic QF flights (SYD>AYQ>CNS>SYD) - all 3 of which ended up been op-uped to business class too which was even better [:D]

Velocity. You cannot earn Velocity points from purchasing the Virgin Blue Airpass.

Does not exclude VS FC right?

Yep, we'll all booked up via the airpass on Syd-Perth-Adl-Syd..

works out very good value, and semi flexible, Qantas fares were daft.
DJ have also confirmed they will honour the baggage allowance of our main international ticket (in email, so not just a passing comment)

Do we get VS miles? not sure, but the price differences more than make up for it.

We didn't when we used them for our 4 internal flights, but I'm not sure if this has changed recently. At the time only Velocity members earned miles/points (and you had to be resident in either Aus or NZ to join Velocity). They're a great carrier regardless [:)].

Many thanks for all the comments.

I have gone ahead and booked Perth - Melbourne, Melbourne - Christchurch and Wellington - Sydney.

A very easy booking system - taxes are a hell of a sting in the tail, but that is something I am well used to. [n][:?]

All sorted now..... bring it on. [y]
