2 questions really:

1. Have a MAN-LHR interconnect(on a VS UC ticket), if we check the bags in at MAN via BD, will we still get tagged for Priority off load at SYD..Or am I better routing to LHR and re-checking at UC desk [?] I'm erring on this latter option (reduces risk of LHR 'losing them')

2. Having a 'multiflight' itinery, I can't view my booking online, likely because system can't handle 6 legs. I've pre-allocated all our UC seats, but I assume the same would apply for trying to check-in online- i.e. it won't let me. VS have said as much over the phone.

Seat selection for us is critical as flying with mini NH. If I have to wait to get this confirmed at LHR on the day, is it likely someone could of 'nicked' our preferred seating arrangement online? [:(!]

Do you think its possible that we can strengthen our want of these seats, even prior to formal check-in. Has anyone had experience of this situation?

If you do check your bags through, then they should still go in the priority bins. The priority system works on the barcode on the luggage tags, which is all linked through your PNR number etc so it should know you are booked in UC. Saying that, the VS priority baggage system is the best, and could quite easily go wrong if you checked in at LHR.

If you have pre-assigned seats, presumably done over the phone by VS, then when OLCI opens, they will not be available for anyone else select. The only way you could get moved is due to an a/c change re-assigning all the seats (not likely given the LHR-SYD is always an A346), or if VS need to move you for some reason, but again this is unlikely. If for whatever reason you do get moved, and you are not happy with your new seats, then let them know, and it seems they do ask if other pax would move to accommodate your needs (it has been mentioned in quite a few TR's where has happened.

Thanks Neil,
Assume you mean could go wrong if check-in bags at MAN as opposed to taking them to the desk at LHR, where we've a fighting chance of them being routed correctly..
Only downside to this, is the added hassle of reclaim & trollying the bags through LHR's underworld..

I actually meant to say that the VS priority system isn't the best, so it could as easily go wrong checking in at LHR, like it could checking in at MAN.
