Not sure if this is something that people are aware of but from December 7th Virgin Trains will become a points earning partner for flying club members. See below for full details:

From 7 December Virgin Trains will be joining the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club scheme as a points earning partner. Flying Club members will be able to earn points for journeys they make with Virgin Trains. Journeys have to be booked on the Virgin Trains website and be for a Virgin Trains journey.
Members will earn 2 miles per 1 spent on a Virgin Trains journey and they must provide their membership number on the shopping basket page.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The terms and conditions are:
Miles can only be earned on journeys booked via http://www.virgintrains.com when the journey is booked to travel on Virgin Trains only and a Flying Club membership number is provided at time of booking. Any other journeys or booking channels will not earn miles. If a journey starts or ends on another Train Operator then we advise for members to purchase the different journeys separately to ensure points are earned on the Virgin Trains journey. When Miles will be allocated depends on the type of ticket purchased.
Advance tickets are non refundable and therefore points will be allocated after the journey date has passed. Miles will be allocated up to 5 days after the day of travel.
Anytime, Off Peak, Super Off Peak and Virgin Business tickets allow more flexibility about the date or time and are refundable so miles will be allocated up to 65 days after the outward date of travel.

Good. Now wouldn't it be lovely if AU card holders could get some sort of discount on upgrades to First Class?! I'm not holding my breath though.

Hi,

As a weekly traveller on Virgin trains this is great news. However I have just looked around the VA web site and also made a dummy booking on Virgin Trains site and couldn't see any mention of earning FC miles

Anyone managed to find any online detail or even earn miles on VS trains yet?

Cheers,

Matt

Hi folks, just to let you know that the start date has apparently been amended to December 16th due to problems starting this project. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late advice but only just noticed the e-mail about it!

Well what a result, its not currently showing on the Virgin Atlantic Website but I have just booked a ticket on the VT.com website and was asked for my FC number.

2 miles for every 1 spent on vt.com

Should of happened sooner but definately a move in the right direction.

Has anyone managed to get any miles credited yet?

Did a VT booking for travel in mid-Feb, but not yet had the miles added to my account. VS site says that 'Miles will be allocated up to 5 days after the day of travel.'

Have emailed FC to ask for an update, waiting for a reply.
