Can anyone suggest the best Visa or Mastercard for earning VS Flying Club points? I used to have the BAA Worldpoints Visa card but alas they have stopped giving points so I am a bit stuck!

Is there a reason why you're not looking at the MBNA Amex cards?

Realistically, there are very few options for earning on VS if you do not want an AmEx. I assume this is for a back-up card? The preferred method was the Bmi Mastercard but that is now also an AmEx.

There is a Marriott card and a Hilton card, both Visa, though the points really wont amount to much unless you spend them on hotel stays as the conversion rate is pretty low.

Lloyds TSB do a good product that supplies an AmEx and a Mastercard so you can always collect points, but these are towards the traditional Airmiles program: http://www.airmiles.co.uk/collect/lloyd ... rmiles-duo

What do others on here do? We primarily use our AmEx for points and the old Bmi Mastercard as a back up card which has netted a nice amount of airmiles that we can spend on *A or VS but we are quite keen to use them with *A.

Thanks,
Sarah

The main reason I need a Visa card is for the places when my Amex VS is not accepted - for example the post office etc. Thank you for the ideas so far! I am trying to max out on the best points collection scheme.

The Hilton card comes with Hilton Silver status which is valid for as long as you hold the card. If you dont currently hold Hilton status that might be useful?

Thanks,
Sarah
