HI Guys,

I have been lurking on here for quite some time now (years!) but thought it was about time I 'subscribed'.

We have flown MAN to MCO UC for our last two trips, the first time was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience but we would now find it hard to go back to PE [ii]

I have been hanging on for the sale to see if UC prices came down at all but they don't seem to be included in the sale. For our first trip we paid around 1200 each and then slightly more in Feb this year. The lowest price I can see at the mo is around 1756.....

We are looking to fly MAN to MCO again in Feb, departing around the 7th/14th for 2 to 3 weeks and we are 2 adults and 2 children. We are quite flexible on dates but do need to incorporate the half term school holiday. UC seats do seem to be going fast now?!?

Does anyone one know if there is an UC sale due anytime soon? If not I will have to bite the bullet but try to purchase one seat using points.....

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ali [:)]

Welcome to V-Flyer.

In all probability, there will be a UC sale very soon. One is due.

The problem may be that Orlando is rarely heavily discounted in UC. It is a very popular destination and the number of suites is very limited. As you rightly point out half term is another big factor.

Depending on what is on offer when the UC sale comes along, one consideration may be to fly indirect. I accept this isn't easy with two children but worth a thought.

We went on a cruise in October and MIA PE was missed out of the sales, so we flew into BOS and then got JetBlue into FLL. I don't know if JetBlue or a similar airline fly to MCO via BOS or New York, but if you take that option, you have the advantage of LHR planes (probably with V-Port), the LHR Clubhouse and Revivals.

Maybe not as easy, but worth considering?

Hi and welcome to the site.

There will likely to be an UC sale, most probably early in the New Year if previous years are anything to go by. MCO is a route that isn't always included in the sales, and with the current PE sale fares being just short of 1000 I can't see UC being much below the 1600 mark if included.

As others have said, a UC Sale is due soon. If it's any help, as a possible guideline, there was a Sale in early January this year that, unusually, did include Orlando in UC. I got a UC return MAN-MCO in this Sale for 1298 all-in, for travel dates in May [2009].

Hi again and thanks for all your replies.

If we could get the flights for 1298, I would be made up, just not sure how much longer I can hang fire........

Happy Christmas to everyone [:D]

Don't forget though - if you see a price you can live with, it can be better to grab it; lower prices subsequently may come with attached lower availability.

Good luck any way; I'm looking forward to my first man mco UC flight in april.

Just do not check the prices afterwards as it could lead to tears[:#][:#]

As Nick said, I would look at the indirect route, going through Miami may make life a lot easier for you, though of course that does mean getting down to LHR then up to MCO from MIA.

Hi Ali and welcome to the site[y][y]

The just announced sale for Economy and PE just shows how much demand there is the for the Orlando route with prices near on double for other East coast destinations.

I know precisely what you mean when you say you will find it hard to not go UC again[:w] but with your requirement to travel during school holidays, the ability to find either a good fare or even a reward seat will be limited.

To find one reward seat can be possible, but two............ My most recent trip got me out to Orlando, but i had to return via new York[n]

Again, thanks for all your replies.

I think we are going to bite the bullet and book, pay for 3 seats and book the other with points, there still seem to be reward seats available for our dates.....

The only other option is that we hang on, hope that MAN to MCO is in the UC sale and that our dates are available but with Feb only being a matter of weeks away, I need to get a villa etc sorted out and must say I am starting to get jittery!!!! I might have been happy to sit it out and then fly PE if all else fails but DH is adamant that we are going UC, use my points this time and then should we want to book another trip in the future then we will definately have to hold out for UC sale prices.....
